Reece Thomas

Your health isn’t always yours to control. How you care for it is.

Reece spent years as a Critical Care and Flight Paramedic with the Queensland Ambulance Service, showing up for people in their hardest moments. Then PTSD unravelled his own world. Today he speaks frankly about mental wellness from both sides of the curtain, and what it really means to care for yourself.

About Reece

Black and white portrait of Reece Thomas looking directly at the camera

As a Paramedic, Reece helped countless people in mental health crisis. He saw the harm drugs and alcohol can do, and the quiet toll mental illness takes on families left without support. He also saw, more times than he’d like to remember, what happens when people reach crisis alone.

Despite all he thought he knew, Reece developed severe PTSD. It stopped him in his tracks and changed the course of his life. Today he speaks first-hand about mental illness, his journey from inpatient to now, and the role self-compassion and support play in recovery.

Reece brings his stories and insights to corporate teams, community organisations and emergency services with honesty, warmth and heart. Audiences leave with practical tools for looking after their mental wellness at home and in the workplace.
